The Brief: Create short Video Segments to promote Safe Storage PNW

The background: Jacob Torres WWU student  is an accomplished audio engineer who is new to making video's. Jacob wanted assistance in creating the videos for Safe Storage PNW.

​

Lorelei is assisting Jacob by providing production leadership and expertise. She is providing guidance in the form of scheduling, producing, creating a timeline and feedback on the edited video's. Her learning objectives through this project was to build creative leadership skills. To effectively manage the creative process in a way that leaves room for creativity while still providing overall project structure.

 

Lorelei  has provided structure for the project in the following ways:

• Contract for agreed parameters

• A project plan 

• Scheduling gear for shoot

• On site production expertise

• Assistance with on site video content gathering

• Deadlines for edit versions

• Structured feedback sessions on several versions of edits 

• Advice on working with client

• Weekly update memo's

 

Project outcomes: The work allowed Jacob to craft three compelling final videos, while building confidence in his video creation skills. He received great feedback from the organizers at Safe Storage PNW about his work. They are currently restructuring their organization and will hopefully make use of the video's on their social media account when they have finished.
